In 2023, CCHI launched its CoreCHI-Performance (CoreCHI-P) certification credential that aims to elevate the standards of healthcare interpreting for interpreters of all languages, especially languages of limited diffusion. This session will provide an overview of the CoreCHI-P certification program, the scientific foundation for a monolingual interpreting testing, and the benefits of becoming a CoreCHI-P certificant.

Presenters will highlight the impact of a national performance certification process on the profession and language access in health care.

Attendees will learn about interpreting subskills that can be tested in an English-only modality which will help deepen their understanding of the interpreting process and identify strategies of improving their performance skills.
