Georges Bastin

Georges L. Bastin, Ph.D. in Translation Studies from the Université de Paris III, is Associated Professor at the Université de Montréal. His research interests lie in the fields of translation pedagogy and translation history. He is author of various books, book chapters, entries in Encyclopedia and papers in refereed journals. He heads the Research Group on Translation History in Latin America (www.histal.net). He has been President of the Canadian Association for Translation Studies (CATS 2006-2010) and President of the Canadian Association of Schools of Translation (CAST). His was META’s Editor from 2014 to 2024 and is a certified translator by OTTIAQ.
