Ártermis López holds an M.A. in Medical Translation from the Universitat Jaume I, Spain, and is a Ph.D. Candidate in Linguistics from the Universidade de Vigo, Spain. He is a certified translator by the American Translators Association (ATA) and a certified medical interpreter. He has twelve years of experience translating projects for private clients in a wide range of subjects, including community, government, literary and video game translation. He also has seven years of experience in medical interpretation, including workers’ compensation cases. Ártemis has worked in text revision and editing with a specialization in queer, trans, and non-binary culture and terminology. Some of his clients include AARP, Planned Parenthood (PPLM), UnidosUS, CDC, Editorial Anagrama, and Editorial Errata Naturae. He has published several articles and pieces since 2019 and has made numerous presentations in national and international events. He is a member of the Asociación Española de Traductores, Correctores e Intérpretes (Asetrad), the American Translators Association (ATA), the Asociación Internacional de Traductores y Redactores de Medicina y Ciencias Afines (TREMÉDICA), and the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), among a few others. Ártemis is a profficient user of CAT tools and translation related technologies.
