In Miami Spring into Action 2020 is an international conference organized by the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Florida (ATIF). The Miami Dade College has provided ATIF with a venue for this event, and the Spanish Language Division of the American Translators Association (ATA) has been invited to collaborate.
 

Spring into Action 2020 (SIA) will be held on March 20 – 22, 2020 at the Miami Dade College Eduardo J. Padron Campus (before MDCIC) located at 627 SW 27th Ave, Miami, FL 33135. (Building 6).

Now until December 31st, 2019 OR UNTIL the number of “early bird” slots available is reached. The ‘early bird’ option is available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Yes. Refunds are given until January 20, 2020. 

The six ‘anchor’ speakers are the four members of the Palabras Mayores ensemble, Dr. Alexander Rainof. Ph.D and  Dr. Alicia María Zorrilla, president of the “Academia Argentina de Letras.” For more information go to www.springintoaction.info/bios.

At this early stage, the catalog of lectures is in progress. Once the lectures and presenters are selected, and placed on calendar, they will be posted at www.springintoaction.info/program 

Yes. Building 6 has its own dedicated parking garage which will be made available to our attendees free of charge.

On the ground floor, Building 6 has two cafeterias which we will try to make operational during the conference. More updates on this matter to come.

You will have to R.S.V.P for the reception but you pay nothing … it’s complimentary, courtesy of ATIF.

Yes. Once the presentations are selected, they will be submitted to the American Translators Association (ATA), the Court Interpreter Certification and Regulatory Program (CICRP), the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) and the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) for educational credits. Once these are obtained, they will be announced.

Yes, but the participant will have to attend a preparation workshop at the cost of $100. This fee does not give the exam participant the right to attend the presentations of the conference–unless he/she has paid admittance to the conference.
